When my dad began showing symptoms of dementia I was at a loss as to how to deal with that. I lived 350 miles away and he refused to move. An elder care attorney recommended that I contact Sage Care. That turned out to be invaluable advice. My dad’s case manager, Kimberly, proved to be an indispensable source of referrals and advocacy for my dad. She became a friend. During the many crises with my dad she was always a calming, helpful source of practical support. She was my eyes and ears regarding my dad’s environment and condition in my absence. During Covid, with all of the restrictions, she was a lifesaver. My dad’s care was made better by her constant attention and insight to his needs. I also found the entire team at Sage to be excellent. I would not have been able to properly care for my dad without Kimberly’s and Sage’s support.Jeff Watson

Sage is always there with good advice! I have spoken and texted with Nancy Ortiz several times for different situations. With my Mom in the hospital for 5 months. We found out through experience that geriatric care in hospitals is not a given. Then the considerations of hospice. So nice to talk with someone who has "been there".

I hardly know where to begin! Eight years ago when my mother's health began to deteriorate rapidly, my sister and I were suddenly in very unfamiliar territory dealing with more doctors then hospice then caring for our elderly father who had never lived on his own. My sister, who lives in Dallas, had a friend who recommended Sage Care Management in San Antonio to help all of us navigate through all this. The day my sister called them, Kimberly and Nancy came to my parents' home to explain their services and immediately showed their worth in advice and guidance. They are so kind and knowledgeable. They helped us with the hospice process and even attended Mom's funeral when she passed. I was now responsible for my father's care. I'm the youngest child, working full time, and still struggling with my own grief. For over two years, Kimberly, our counselor, visited Dad every month checking on his emotional and physical health and the state of the house. She quickly became a much loved and trusted confidante for my father, an emotional outlet he desperately needed. After each visit, she would report to my sister and me about her observations. Though I saw Dad multiple times a week, her reports gave us deeper insight into his needs. In the past few years, there have been increasing trips to the ER and doctor challenges. Kimberly and Nancy have been invaluable resources for guidance, encouragement and important information. Kimberly helped us find a new GP for Dad when it became evident his doctor was not giving necessary care. I have relied on Nancy when I have questions about his medical needs. They were able to reach out to Dad's GP for a needed referral when I had not had much success. I can honestly and fervently state that the staff at Sage Care Management are a huge part of why my 96-year old father can still live independently with joy and purpose. We love them ALL!!!

Sage Care Management is a professional resource for me when I have clients that need eyes and ears on their loved ones in the South Texas area. Families will call and being long distance - they need an aging life care manager to "manage" the care of their loved one. No matter if you ask for Byron, Kimberly, Shawn, Nancy or the rest of the team- they are on it!
